Description
2-D hard enamel pin on a base of silvery metal, set on a crocodile grip tie-pin. The tie-pin itself is 55mmlong, the Slt is 40mm lang and 18mm high.

The Slt (Sprinter Light Train) was released onto the dutch tracks at the start of 2009 as a replacement for the Mat '64. The Slt was the first train in the new and bright signature style of the dutch railways. Alongside the well known yellow and blue on the outside, there were also large patches of white. This fresh new style was also applied on the inside by leaving out compartment separating walls and doors. This gave the train a very open and bright interior. The Slt also was the first train with flooring lining up with the height of the platforms which allowed wheelchairs to board these trains without the need of third party assistance.

The Slt also brought a lot of trouble for the dutch railways. Issues with the wintery weather siderailed most of the Slt's for a longer period of time, waiting for repairs and adjustments. The biggest problems however were the complaints rising up from passengers, personell and traveler organisations about the lack of toilets in these sprinter trains. Eventually this led to a motion within the dutch government in which it was decided that all trains had to be fitted with a toilet come 2025 as part of the concession for the main rail network. Further more the dutch railways were forced to retrofit the Slt's with toilets, and future trains coming into service of the dutch railways from 2015 onward had to be fitted with a toilet before being allowed into service. At this time (almost) all train units of the Slt are fitted with a toilet, additionally sliding steps and extra wheelchair spaces have been added.
